Laehn, Sheryl

Welcome to Mrs. Laehn's Webpage

I am so excited to be teaching Reading in the Bangor School District.
My vision for teaching is to connect with and motivate students to enjoy reading as a way
to learn new information, discover adventures, and exercise the mind.

I was born in Sparta and when I was very young my family moved to Mondovi.  I graduated from Mondovi High School and then attended UWEC.  After graduating I began my teaching career in Mondovi.  I started out teaching 6th grade in the Middle School as well as coachning MS volleyball and basketball.  After 8 years of teaching in the Middle School, I transitioned to the Elementary School where I began teaching 1st grade.  I also added coaching JV Softball as well.  I continued teaching 1st grade for the next 9 years while earning my Masters Degree in Education from UW-La Crosse.  I then began working toward my Reading Teacher License and started working with Reading Students in the Title I program.  After moving to Bangor I taught Reading in Onalaska, Cochrane-Fountain City, and Tomah before joining the Bangor School District.  I am so happy to be part of the Bangor teaching staff.   "It's A Great Day (Year) to be a Bangor Cardinal!"
My husband, Dave and I live in Bangor.  Dave also works for the Bangor School District as the district administrator.  We are the proud parents of two sons, Jason and Anthony, both graduates of the University of Minnesota.  Jason, who is a captain in the Army, is stationed at Fort Gordon in Augusta, Georgia where he lives with his wife Kalli.  Anthony is currently attending UW-L to become a high school math teacher.
