Welcome to the Bangor School District!
We are glad that you are taking the time to visit our site and learn more about our district. We are very proud of our district and what we can offer to students and families. Even though we are a small school, we believe we can do big things. As our mission statement states, “Bangor Pride—A Small School Building Big Futures”, we are helping students build their own big futures through small class sizes where we develop close relationships with our students and our state of the art technology, We also are working hard to fulfill our mission statement and become “An Innovative, Small School Creating Excellence Through Personalized Learning and Relationships for All.” If we can build those relationships and have expectations of excellence for all, we believe we can be a school that you will be proud to send your child to.
Why would we like you to consider our school? Even though we are a small district, we provide a wide range of academic, extra and co-curricular opportunities for our students that prepare them to be not only excellent students but also to compete in the global economy. We offer those unlimited opportunities in a small school setting where every student can connect with a passionate and child-centered staff. With a variety of offerings before, during, and after the school day, the Bangor School District is the perfect place for students to excel.
We are proud to have small class sizes at every level in our district. Our educational offerings begin with our four-year-old kindergarten program. In our elementary, our staff works extremely hard preparing our children to gain the needed skills, especially in reading and math, to succeed as they grow and mature. And because technology is such a valuable tool, students in all grades are each issued an iPad that they can use at school everyday.
At the middle school, students are given their first opportunity to explore curriculum in many different areas including Information Technology, Family and Consumer Education, Technology Education, Agriculture, Band and Choir. In addition, students in grades six through twelve are each issued an iPad that they can use throughout the year at school and at home.
At the high school level, students are allowed to further explore areas of career and personal interest while also preparing for post-secondary education. The School District of Bangor will continue to be on the cutting edge educationally and technologically to meet the needs of students and society now and in the future.
