Student Health Guidelines
When to keep your Child at home
And
When they can Return to School
**When calling to report your child ill, please describe the symptoms so that we can accurately monitor illness and report to the Health Department**
Fever: Greater than 100.0 F Do Not send your child to school. May return 24 hours after your child has been fever free (less than 100.0 F) without the use of fever-reducing medications, such as Tylenol or Ibuprofen.
Vomiting: May return 24 hours after vomiting stops and your child is able to keep liquids down.
Diarrhea: May return 24 hours after diarrhea ends.
Rash: Your child cannot attend school with an open, draining, oozing rash or a rash with a fever. May return at date specified by physician, or when rash has healed over.
Contagious Diseases - Strep Throat, Pink Eye, Impetigo: May return 24 hours after being on medication prescribed by medical provider.
Chicken Pox: May return to school 5-7 days after the onset of rash. All sores are dry and scabbed over.
Head Lice: Your child's hair must be treated and combed before returning to school. Upon returning to school, the school nurse will check the child's hair.
