Mrs. Olson’s first semester classes have been working hard on a variety of projects. HS 3D Design has life size tape sculptures on display throughout school. HS Art Survey finished oil pastel fruits, 6th graders did a collage dog or cat while experimenting with different mediums. 8th graders made radial prints on an oil pastel background.
This month you will find texture cake drawings created by Mrs Olson’s 6th graders at the John Bosshard Memorial Library in Bangor. In addition 8th graders have Radial Printmaking, 7th Graders have 1 pt perspective trains, and HS students have charcoal drawings showing reflection and refraction.
The Harvest of the Month for February is Dried Beans.
The Cashton PTO is holding a Chili Supper Fundraiser. The supper will be held on Friday, January 24, 2025 from 4:30 PM to 7 PM before the Girls Basketball Game against
Bangor. The meal includes all-you-can-eat chili, baked potato, dinner roll,
condiments, dessert, and milk. There will be raffle items on site
with the raffle drawing being held at 7:15 PM.

With all of the renovations nearing completion in the Bangor Schools this year the Bangor Technology Education Program is now offering two automotive classes for our students. As a result of the generous donation from The First National Bank of Bangor, under the direction of William Bosshard, the district was able to purchase a tire balancer and tire changer to provide hands-on learning using real world, state of the art, equipment. This equipment allows students to practice lifelong skills like tire mounting, tire balancing and wheel alignment. In addition, students are learning and demonstrating proper vehicle maintenance and safety procedures they will be able to take with them into the automotive industry.
Teacher Adam Kratochvill states that “Every day I am in awe of the technology and equipment we have in the automotive addition. Most days, the tire changer and balancers are being used. Not only have they used it for maintenance on their cars and trucks, but they also have used it on trailers and four wheelers.”
Mr. Kratochvill has also noted that the excitement generated by our new space and new equipment is inspiring more and more students to select his classes. We know that the equipment will be well used and that countless students will have the opportunity to experience using high quality equipment to take care of their vehicles.
The District would like to sincerely thank First National Bank for this incredible addition to our school. It is because of this continued, amazing, community support that the School District of Bangor continues to be an incredible place for our students to learn and grow.

Music Backer Meeting: Monday, January 13th at 6 PM.
Congratulations Stella and Sandra! Stella's and Sandra's flag designs have both received honorable mention for Wisconsin's Youth Art Month Flag design contest. Both ladies will be recognized on Friday, March 28th at the East Towne Mall in Madison. The celebration includes activities beginning at 10am with the program at noon until 1pm.
Child Development Day will be Friday, February 7th. Please help us find our future Cardinals. If you have a child born between May 8th, 2020 and March 22nd, 2022, we would love to meet them. Please call the Elementary office at 608-486-5205 to schedule an appointment for free developmental screenings.
The 5th grade Make a Difference Club were spreading love and kindness on December 20th to the community by ringing bells for the Salvation Army at Hansen's IGA in Bangor. The students handed out crocheted hearts that were given to us from the Little Heart Project, to all customers and Hansen's IGA employees as they left the store. We were able to raise over $200 during our 4 hours of ringing. Thank you to our chaperones Jocelyn Pfaff and Kelly Peterson for helping ring with our great students! Thank you to the community for all your support!
The B-Club raised funds with a Chili Supper and 50/50 raffles recently and donated $2300 worth of toys and gift cards to families at Mayo Health Systems and Gundersen/Emplify.
Mr. Jones and the Jazz Band entertained with holiday music at lunch recently.
The local Knights of Columbus donated generously to our Special Education program and to our Food Pantry/Backpack Program.
Ms. Nikolai’s 4K class and Mrs. Brokopp’s 3rd graders enjoyed time building together using new materials from the Discovery Lab
Bangor Schools will dismiss at normal time today. All after school activities have been canceled and all district facilities will close at 3:30 pm.
The Boys Basketball game against Hillsboro for tonight has been postponed. The game will be played tomorrow night along with the Girl's game. The Boy's Varsity will play in the High School Gym at 5:45 with the Girl's Varsity to follow at approximately 7:15. Junior Varsity will play in the Elementary Gym with Girl's JV at 5:45 and Boy's JV to follow.

The Merrimakers presented 3 $200 educational grants to 3 different recipients today. Mrs. Coe applied with a project called: Playground Communication Board, Ms. Lichtfuss' project was called Colonial Style Role Plays, and Mrs. Briggs' project was called Monthly Book Adventure.
