Bangor World History classes are raising awareness about genocide. There are ten stages of genocide at varying levels of severity—beginning with subtle acts like classification and symbolization, and escalating to dehumanization, persecution, and mass violence.
Genocide begins with words, stereotypes, and division. By understanding these ten stages, we can recognize early warning signs and work to prevent atrocities before they escalate.

BES third grade students enjoyed their field trip to Slide Into Safety put on by Emplify Health Systems by Gundersen. Students participated in 10 different stations learning about how to stay safe this summer. We didn't let the rain put a damper on the fun, so we had some fun creating marble mazes in the discovery lab for part of the afternoon.

The American Legion Auxiliary shared the history of the Poppy plant and its connection to World War I and all other conflicts today. They gave our students coloring books which tell the story as well. We want to thank them for sharing their time and information with our students.

Congratulations to the Class of 2025!
