Seventh grade parents: your child received their paperwork at school this week for a McKenzie Environmental Center for April 12 through April 14. Please ask your child for this paperwork, and help remind them to bring it back to Mrs. Harper by March 10th. February's Harvest of the Month is Farm to School Chili. National Chili Day is February 23, 2023.

Thank you to everyone who donated items, volunteered or participated in last week's Bangor Community Clothing Exchange!

Bangor Schools will be CLOSED Thursday, January 19th. All after-school and evening activities are cancelled as well.

This past weekend, 5 students represented Bangor Schools at the Wisconsin Choral Directors Association state conference in Appleton. They were nominated and selected to be a part of these groups which included students from over 40 schools across the state and brought together at least 150 students for each ensemble. They did an amazing job and created some truly beautiful music. Congrats to Vanessa Roosa who was part of the Treble Clef Choir and to Brandon Gilbertson, Trevor Langrehr, Nash Nagy and Colten Schroeder who were part of the Bass Clef Choir!

Each year more than 125,000 students in grades 9-12 enter the VFW’s Voice of Democracy oral essay contest. The first-place winner from each state competes for national awards totaling $50,000, with each first-place state winner receiving a minimum of $500 at the national level. The national first-place winner wins $5,000 and an all-expense-paid trip to Washington, D.C., in March. For the second straight year, Bangor High School's Ezequiel Rodriguez's essay was awarded 1st place among the local entries submitted to Post 8278 in Bangor. As the first-place winner at the local level, Ezequiel's essay advanced to the district-wide level of competition.

High School Transition Presentation: For Current 8th Grade families/parents. Wednesday, February 1st at 6:00 pm in the High School cafeteria. This meeting is informational, not mandatory, for parents. All students will receive the exact same information during class that same week. We wanted to give parents the opportunity to hear what the students are hearing before class registration opens. If parents are unable to come, we can share the presentation as well!
