Congratulations to the West Salem co-op on their Division 1 state berth following a second place finish at sectionals. Camdyn Lyga and Grace Olson both put up stuck beam routines for the team to jump from 5th to 2nd in our final round of competition. The two will compete for the team on Friday in Wisconsin rapids!!

Bangor Schools have a scheduled day off on Friday, February 28th. While staff and students are out of the buildings there will be a an Emergency Response Training that includes multiple jurisdictions and the La Crosse County Sheriff's department that will take place at the MS/HS. While there will be increased police presence, there is no emergency.

Brian Wopat to Lead Bangor Middle/High School The School District of Bangor is excited to announce the hire of Brian Wopat as Middle/High School Principal. Brian will take over for the 25-26 school year and is currently completing his 23rd year in education as a high school French teacher in Onalaska. Brian earned his Master’s Degree from UW-La Crosse and earned his Principal and Curriculum & Instruction licenses through Viterbo University. Brian’s focus on relationships, strong instructional leadership, and vision for the future of education came through strongly during the interview process. He shared the following in his introduction to the District. “ I am honored and excited to join the Bangor School District as the Middle/High School Principal. I look forward to working with staff, students, and the community to uphold the district’s rich traditions, commitment to educational excellence, and immense sense of Cardinal pride. #SmallSchoolBuildingBigFutures” Brian will have opportunities throughout the spring and summer to work with the District to ensure a smooth transition to his new role. We welcome Brian and look forward to his leadership to help ensure that every day continues to be a great day to be a Bangor Cardinal.
